BENEFITS TO YOU
WHAT ARGON
DOES FOR YOU
|
TOTAL PERSONAL
COMFORT |
|
Total personal comfort without
affecting others (personal VAV)
Immediate response to changing cooling and
heating requirements and metabolic
variation
Perceived temperature change through range of
approx 15°F [8°]
Fresher air (better ventilation efficiency
requires 50% less outside air
|
 |
| |
|
|
|
CLEANER ENVIRONMENT |
|
Floor air supply produces a much cleaner environment
Particles float to ceiling without
recirculating
80% reduction in particle count (see
graph, Fig. 7.1)
Reduced cross contamination
Absence of saturated air prevents growth
of microbes and fungus (see article on mold
here)

 |
| |
|
|
|
GREATER PRODUCTIVITY |
|
Increased comfort
Healthier climate because of increased ventilation efficiency, cleaner
air and reduced cross contamination1
Reduced absenteeism
Resulting savings can exceed the total cost of owning and operating or
leasing a building2 |
 |
| |
|
|
|
FLEXIBLE INSTALLATION |
|
Locate supply air to suit needs of
occupants Underfloor air
distribution (UFAD) without floor grilles, with options for wall, sill or
other outlets |
 |
|
|
|
|
LOWER
FIRST COST |
|
Elimination of distribution
ductwork
Reduced building volume with less slab-to-slab heights
Can eliminate hung ceiling (with task/ambient lighting)
Reduced system capacity requirements by 20% based on higher operating
temperatures and reduced outside air requirements
Reduced air friction - reduced fan power |
 |
|
|
|
|
LOWER ENERGY COSTS |
|
Simple manual control
Reduced power consumption because of
Unpressurized plenum (virtually eliminates supply
air leakage [Click here])
Reduced friction
Higher operating temperatures
Cooling effect of
moving personal air
Air stratification
permits higher return air temperatures
Reduced outside air requirements
Greater use of economizer
Reduced peak power and demand charges
Reduced after hours cooling cost |

Wargocki, P., et al. 2000. Productivity is Affected by the Air Quality in Offices.
Submitted to Healthy Buildings 2000.
Payroll costs in office buildings are approximately
$200 to $300 per square foot [$1,800 to $2,700 per square meter]. According
to studies by both BOSTI and BOMA, by improving ergonomics and environmental
controls, productivity can be increased by as much as 15-18%.
Just a 10% improvement in productivity due to the Argon System will equal
total annual building owning and operating costs of $20 to $30 per square foot
[$180 to $270 per square meter].
ARGON PROVIDES THE “MISSING LINK”
Over 400 million
square feet of general office space with access floor are already installed
nationwide. An estimated 500 thousand square feet in new construction and
800 thousand in renovation projects are added weekly. The reason is easy installation and reconfiguration of power, computer
and communications cabling. Adding
the ARGON System of air distribution to the access floor lowers building height
by eliminating distribution ductwork, significantly reducing building volume and
cost.
Task lighting with indirect ceiling lighting or
ambient lighting is also used increasingly for reduced power consumption and
less glare (especially on computer screens) and allows the elimination of hung
ceilings.
When access
floor and task/ambient lighting are combined with the ARGON Personal
Distribution Terminal, the result is a cleaner, more comfortable, more "user
friendly" office building providing greater productivity, flexibility for
simple, speedy, low cost changes, and reduced energy consumption.
